Okay, I’ve shared this blog with my Twitter account so I think it’s time for a test run to see what happens.  Alakazam! Will it or won’t it?

You wouldn’t believe how many times I’ve really wanted to write about or comment on something, and it has tumbled around in my head only to be eventually lost.  And the thought of trying to maintain three blogs  –, and – was a bit daunting so I’ve simplified a bit.  Copy and paste to all three.  Not exactly original but at least it might help with keeping them all updated.

Not sure whether I will add a blog to my business site  I probably should let it have its own blog but then again that may send me completely round the bend.  It might be better to point to one of the three I already have.

Decisions, decisions.

The Election

Well, it’s election day and I still have no idea who I’m going to vote for.  I know that I will definitely not be voting for 3 of the 6 candidates for this area but I’m at a total loss beyond that.

Our choices are – Labor, Liberal, Family First, Greens and 2 Independents.  One of the Independents only seems to be concerned about the aged pension (possibly because he is quite old).  The other one wants to focus on using more sugar cane for ethanol instead of sugar.  Fair enough but I really don’t know what other policies he has.  My son wants to vote for the Sex Party!  What a shame that we don’t have a candidate in our area.  We also don’t have a Fishing & Lifestyle candidate and that seems a bit silly because this is a fishing/whale watching/touristy area.

I’m pretty much over the 2 major parties as a whole, but I do quite like Julia G.

If only we had an Australian chapter of the Monster Raving Loony Party!  Might be worth looking into!  hahaha  The party for the disillusioned (or delusional?).

Oh, Happy Days!

A short but very sweet post.  It looks like Torchwood is coming back according to what I’ve read at the Children of Earth site.

I’m trying so hard not to be a tv junkie, but I only watch a few shows that I really enjoy and this is one of them.  Unfortunately, most of the shows I enjoy don’t last very long because they aren’t the ‘vanilla’ commercially popular offerings that run forever.

The Silly Things You Just Can’t Avoid

Life can be pretty silly at times.  A couple of years ago I found out that I’m diabetic.  It wasn’t really a surprise because my father and brother are, as well as my mother’s sister so the odds were against me.  Prior to that I was diagnosed with a type of auto-immune arthritis but nobody has been able to tell me which one so far.

Now I know that diabetes is not a good thing to have but it can be manageable.  Unfortunately, I’m not good with making regular doctor appointments and taking mountains of tablets daily and I’ve found it really hard to adjust as I’ve never had to do it before.  I upset my last doctor so much he kicked me out and told me to find another doctor.  I had no idea he expected me to see him weekly.  It does seem a bit excessive and my new doctor was quite amazed when I told him.  So I’ll be off again on the blood tests/tablets/urine tests etc.

Speaking of urine tests, I did the mother of all urine tests late last week.  24 hours worth of urine, through a funnel into a 4 litre bottle!  It wasn’t fun and it sure wasn’t easy.  Now if that isn’t one of the most ludicrous tests ever, I’ll eat my hat!

At least this new doctor I’m seeing is willing to look further into the auto-immune arthritis by having my blood retested for it, as well as treating the diabetes.

The One-Handled Mower

Why do things break around the same time?  Within the last month we had the washing machine die, and then a week later it was the mower.

The mower didn’t actually die, it was the handle that died.  Snapped right through on one side down near the wheel. Don’t ask me how or why it happened because I have no idea.  It was looking a bit bent at that end for a while so maybe it just decided to give up and end it all.  It isn’t easy trying to push a mower around with only one side of the handle attached and the other side flapping around.  The mower wants to go one way while the handle wants to go the other way, as the attached bit starts to bend in the opposite direction.

I guess it’s time to retire that one.  The poor thing has had a good innings.
